Judging Criteria
A1 List
For persons who have previously been approved by The Kennel Club to
award CC’s in the breed and have completed their first appointment. To
have the support of the Alaskan Malamute Club of the United Kingdom.
A2 List
For persons who fulfil all the requirements for the A3 list and who have
been assessed in accordance with Kennel Club requirements and accepted
by The Kennel Club for inclusion on an A2 list and have the support of
The Alaskan Malamute Club of the United Kingdom.
A3 List (Breed Specialists)
Requirements include:
1. Minimum of 7 years judging experience in the breed and have the
support of The Alaskan Malamute Club of the United Kingdom.
2. To have judged the breed at 5 Open Shows or Championship Shows
without CC’s with an adequate geographical spread.
3. To have judged a minimum of 25 classes.
4. To have judged a minimum of 100 dogs to the satisfaction of the
Judges Sub- committee.
5. To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer,
and passed the relevant examination on Kennel Club Regulations and
Judging Procedures.
6. To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer
on Conformation and Movement.
7. To have attended at least one breed specific seminar run in
accordance with the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and
passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable.
7a To have attended a Conformation & Movement “Hands-on-Assessment”
conducted by a Kennel
Club Accredited Trainer and passed the assessment.
8. To have bred and/or owned a minimum of 3 dogs when they obtained
their 1st entry in The Kennel Club Stud Book (save in exceptional
circumstances).
9. To have stewarded over a minimum period of 3 years and at 12 Shows.
10. To undertake to originate a critique for ‘Dog World’, ‘Our Dogs’ and
the Alaskan Malamute Club Of The United Kingdom Magazine – ‘ Sled Dog’
within one calendar month of the Show.
A3 List (Non-Specialists)
Requirements include:
1. Minimum of 7 years judging experience in any one breed (to include 5
years in this breed) and have the support of The Alaskan Malamute Club
of the United Kingdom.
2. To have judged the breed at 5 Open Shows or Championship Shows
without CC’s with an adequate geographical spread.
3. To have judged a minimum of 25 classes in this breed.
4. To have judged 100 dogs of this breed to the satisfaction of the
Judges Sub- committee.
5. To have awarded CC’s in at least one other breed.
6. To have attended at least one breed specific judging seminar run in
accordance with the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and
passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable.
6a To have attended a Conformation & Movement “Hands-on-Assessment”
conducted by a Kennel
Club Accredited Trainer and passed the assessment
7. To have bred and/or owned a minimum of 3 dogs of any breed when they
obtained their 1st entry in The Kennel Club Stud Book (save in
exceptional circumstances).
8. To have stewarded over a minimum period of 3 years and at 12 Shows.
9. To undertake to originate a critique for ‘Dog World’, ‘Our Dogs’ and
The Alaskan Malamute Club of Great Britain Magazine – ‘ Sled Dog’ within
one calendar month of the Show.
B List (Breed Specialists)
1. To have 3 years owning and/or exhibiting in this breed and have the
support of The Alaskan Malamute Club of Great Britain.
2. To have judged 6 classes of this breed at Open Shows or Championship
Shows without CC’s.
3. To have judged 40 dogs of this breed to the satisfaction of the
Judges Sub- committee.
4. To have attended at least one breed specific judging seminar and
passed an assessment where applicable.
5. To have stewarded over a minimum period of 3 years and at 12 Shows
6. To undertake to originate a critique for ‘Dog World’, ‘Our Dogs’ and
The Alaskan Malamute Club of Great Britain Magazine – ‘ Sled Dog’ within
one calendar month of the Show.
B List (Non-Specialists)
1. Minimum of 3 years judging experience in any one breed and have the
support of The Alaskan Malamute Club of the United Kingdom.
2. To have judged 6 classes of this breed at Open Shows or Championship
Shows without CC’s (save in exceptional circumstances).
3 To have judged 40 dogs of this breed to the satisfaction of the Judges
Sub-committee
4 To have attended at least one breed specific judging seminar and
passed an assessment where applicable.
5 To have stewarded over a minimum period of 3 years and at 12 Shows
6 To undertake to originate a critique for ‘Dog World’, ‘Our Dogs’ and
The Alaskan Malamute
Club Of The United Kingdom Magazine – ‘Sled Dog’ within one calendar
month of the Show.
C List (Breed Specialists)
For aspirant judges who have shown an interest in the breed and have the
support of The Alaskan Malamute Club of the United Kingdom.
C List (Non-Specialists)
For aspirant judges who have shown an interest in the breed and have the
support of The Alaskan Malamute Club of the United Kingdom.
N.B. Dogs judged at hands on seminars or in Rescue Stakes at A.M.C.U.K.
shows do not count towards total number of dogs judged.
